Joy's House is seeking an experienced individual who is able to work within the financial details of a growing organization.  We need this individual to lead the finance team at Joy's House.  The ideal candidate would have the ability to oversee accounts payable and receivable, review budgets and submit reports, along with preparing financial statements for the leadership team.  The position requires the individual to encompass a skill set adaptable to daily tasks as well as long term strategic thinking. 

The position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations at our Broad Ripple location (2028 E. Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220).  

Financial Management Responsibilities:
• Oversee all financial operations and direct financial reporting
• Coordinate, analyze and report the financials to the leadership team and Board of Directors
• Prepare short and long term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and for external parties
• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate non-profit accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including accounting, reporting and grants
• Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for staff and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting
• Working alongside the VP of Operations, design and coordinate the Audit Program
• Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the VP of Operations; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes
• Ensure Joy's House financials and systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
• Establish a high level of accountability and ownership in managing relationships with external parties, as well as internal parties
• Input finances, such as bills, and ensure timely payment
• Provide leadership and direction to the line of business leaders and Board of Directors
• Supervise the Business Manager, including conducting 1/1s and annual performance evaluations
• Engage in a forward-thinking approach to ensure financial health

Qualifications:
• Must have a passion for our mission
• Minimum of a Bachelor's in finance or accounting; CPA is preferred
• At least 2 years of professional accounting experience; preferably in a nonprofit setting
• Outstanding Quickbooks skills and knowledge
• Strong IT skills; ability to suggest and manage new technology integration
• Exceptional communication skills, including written/email and spoken/phone
• Resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
• Strong ability to work in a team setting
• Ability to handle varying levels of pressure and critical decision making
• Experience with project management a plus
• Successful track record of meeting deadlines, project management and creative problem solving
• Experience with preparation of financial statements and reports
• Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles all matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift min. 50 lbs. independently
