The Hoosier Environmental Council, Indiana's leading, statewide environmental educator and advocate is seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to join us as Development and Administrative Coordinator (30-40 hours/week) to play a key role on our team.

The Hoosier Environmental Council is the voice of the people for the environment in Indiana-the organization with the passion and the plan to tackle our environmental challenges and help make our state a healthier, better place to live and do business. 

We're pleased to announce an opportunity to join HEC's team as our new, full-time Development & Administrative Coordinator. Our new Coordinator would join a development team which consists of a Development Manager, Special Projects Manager, and a Special Projects Senior Associate, all of whom are involved in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding support for our mission.

Expectations
• Knowledge of environmental issues through courses, volunteering, self-education
• Experience with database software; SAGE Fundraising 50 experience a plus
• A willingness to be versatile and flexible, with attention to detail and a self-starter ethic
• An ability to work productively in team settings and to deal carefully with sensitive information
• Comfort in discussing environmental issues with others, and with diplomacy, warmth and responsiveness

Duties

Development Outreach:
-Building relationships & expanding connections to foster financial support from a portfolio of donors, through a combination of phone, email, mail, social media & events.
-Working in coordination with other HEC development staff, including debriefing on donor calls and strategy and ensuring integration of donor relationship building with other donor engagement; remaining up-to-date on HEC's work and donor engagement protocol.
-Assisting with tabling during Earth Month events and providing day-of logistical support at HEC events (such as Greening the Statehouse and Ride for the Mounds) as needed.

Development Administration:
-Assisting with development operational activities, such as processing gifts, generating and sending out thank you letters, generating periodic reports and managing database records.

Administration:
-Ensuring a high quality office work space, within budget, including carrying out office beautification work, judiciously purchasing office supplies (including postage, kitchen supplies, office supplies).
-Assisting with other administrative needs, including organizing press clippings, mailing out checks and updating intra-organizational materials (such as staff contact lists).

This position is based out of Indianapolis.
