The Psi Upsilon Foundation Board of Directors is searching for a Director of Philanthropy – the executive leader of the Foundation. The successful applicant will design and direct all aspects of the Foundation's donor engagement including annual, major, and legacy giving.

The Psi Upsilon Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that exists to support the educational and leadership programming of Psi Upsilon Fraternity and to provide scholarships to members who demonstrate a commitment to moral, intellectual, and social excellence.

The Director of Philanthropy's primary responsibility will be cultivation, solicitation, retention, and stewardship of donors who support Psi Upsilon's educational mission. The Director of Philanthropy will partner closely with Foundation board members and leaders of Psi Upsilon Fraternity to ensure the Foundation meets its annual objectives.

The board seeks to share a position description and conduct informational interviews with those who wish to pursue a candidacy. Relocation is not required.

Requires at least five years of fundraising experience.

• Provide Executive direction of fundraising and stewardship activities of The Psi Upsilon Foundation and be the professional face of the organization.
• Responsible for leading the annual fundraising to meet a $350,000 goal from individual gifts.
• Manage relationships with approximately 75-125 prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward these vital alumni and friends of Psi Upsilon Fraternity.
• Works collaboratively with, and in support of, Fraternity and Foundation leadership, alumni volunteers, development staff, and other Fraternity representatives to cultivate and solicit donors.
• Develops gift opportunities and fundraising initiatives including major gifts, planned giving, and other targeted campaigns as determined by the board and Fraternity leadership.
• Monitors prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations within the portfolio.
• Develops engagement and stewardship plans that will drive donor retention and further expand the network of leadership within the Fraternity
• Reports to the Board of Directors and works collaboratively and strategically with the Foundation and Fraternity staff.
• Oversees the required reporting functions of the Foundation to both board and government bodies as needed.
• Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred.
• A thorough knowledge of Psi Upsilon Fraternity and its programs, culture, and history. Psi Upsilon brother preferable, but not required.
• Five-to-seven years successful experience in fundraising preferably in higher education.
• Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors to develop relationships between them and the Fraternity.
• Interest in all aspects of fraternity including the leadership training, networking, and social aspects of the fraternal experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas.
• Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Exemplary writing and communication, prospect research and networking, budgeting and fund accounting, CRM database systems, Microsoft Office.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility.
• Must be willing to travel and have a personal vehicle with valid driver's license.
