The Grant and Proposal Writer will support the activities of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team in Butler University's Advancement Division. The position will report to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and be responsible for composing compelling grants and proposals and managing associated deadlines, communications, reports, and internal documentation, relating to local, national and international prospects.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations
• Work closely with the Butler Institute for Research & Scholarship to support faculty grant submissions
• Collaborate with Business Office to develop grant budgets to align with proposal narratives
• Research and report on corporate and foundation prospects that align with University fundraising priorities
• Developing and writing compelling proposals and reports for corporate sponsors
• Manage calendar of deadlines, submissions, reports, and other relevant communications with corporate and foundation partners
• Work in conjunction with relevant staff to meet deadlines
• Maintain internal documentation of corporate and foundation communications through data entry program (Advance)

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, with concentration in writing, communications, or English strongly preferred
• Five (5) years' experience in grants and proposal writing
• Higher Education industry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Exceptional writing, editing, and interviewing skills
• Exceptional and conscientious inter-personal and communication skills
• Precision and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Project management skills
• Ability to translate information and data into compelling cases for support
• Familiarity with grant processes, budgets, and typical Central Indiana funders
• InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite, and data entry programs
