The Development Coordinator supports a wide variety of activities and administrative functions related to Kappa Delta Pi's development effort. The Coordinator works closely with the Director of Advancement & Marketing to develop and implement campaigns, serves as the primary contact for donors and volunteers, and works with internal teams to ensure accurate, complete, and secure tracking of all donations and prospective donors.

Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), International Honor Society in Education, was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. As a professional membership association and international honor society in education, KDP provides programs, services, and resources to its member educators to support and enhance their professional growth'all in an effort to advance quality education for all and to inspire teachers to prepare all learners for future challenges.

Duties, Responsibilities, & Goals:

1. Serve as primary contact for donors, volunteers, and other staff regarding various development initiatives.
• Serve as liaison with Administration and IT n the implementation of development processes.
• Manages online donor giving system(s) to ensure seamless and effective integration with communication and development systems and processes.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly report data for Director of Advancement & Marketing.
• Provides front-line customer service for development inquiries.

2. Ensure the maintenance of accurate, complete, secure, and up-to-date records on all donors, gifts, donor files, and correspondence, related to prospects, donors, and volunteers. 
• Maintain corporation and individual donor hard files.
• Update and maintain records in Association Anywhere'inputting contact reports, management-related notes, and other information. 
• Maintain standards for donor confidentiality, stewardship, & use of funds.

3. Operationalize fundraising campaigns'both digital and print'in collaboration with various team members. 
• Help to coordinate production and mailing of fundraising appeals.
• Review website for regular changes based on timely campaigns and/or fixes that need to be made to development pages.
• Prepare donor-specific content for social media channels and online/print publications.
• Assist in recruiting capable volunteers for the organization.

4. Develop and manage campaigns for ongoing cultivation, stewardship, & use of funds.
• Prepare gift processing paperwork, draft acknowledgement letters and other related correspondence, and coordinate gift receipting.
• Develops segmented donor recognition program; identifies and celebrates donor milestones.

5. Assist in identifying additional prospects through a systematic program of prospect research and evaluation.
• Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate, foundation, individual, and government donors.
• Assist with the maintenance and preparation of donor profiles.
• Assemble media and donor briefing materials/packets for events and meetings.

6. Complete other duties as assigned by Director of Advancement & Marketing.

Position Specifications

Demeanor:  The Development Coordinator must thrive in a fast-paced, high volume work environment, and is a professional who works collaboratively with multiple departments. The Coordinator also has a passionate and unwavering believe in Kappa Delta Pi's mission and strategy to ensure that all learners are prepared for future challenges through the profession of teaching.

Education:  Four-year college degree in Communications, Advancement, Philanthropic Studies, or related area. A minimum of three years of experience in the advancement field. Experience with nonprofit association and/or education organization/setting is preferred.

Knowledge:  Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite required.

Skills and Competencies:  Dedication to customer service and excellent relationship management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Highly organized with professional demeanor. Strong attention-to-detail. High level of comfort working with technology online and a willingness to learn. Experience with prospect research tools a plus.
