The Program Manager'Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration (LHRD) Grant will oversee the day to day management and coordination of the grant, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The purpose of the grant is to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately owned housing to make it safe for rental or owner occupants in urban jurisdictions.


Key Duties include:

  • Ensuring compliance with eligibility determination, risk assessments, inspections, remediation and worker certification and clearance requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Indiana State Department of Health'Indiana Lead and Healthy Homes Program to refer eligible families and participants into the LHRD program.
  • Monitor healthy homes activities/expenditures.
  • Maintain records of remediation, outreach and training activities.

Required Education and Experience:  High School diploma; Indiana Inspectors License; Minimum 2 years experience in housing rehabilitation or lead hazard control; Valid Indiana driver's license.

Preferred Education and Experience:  Bachelor's Degree; Risk Assessor/Lead Inspector experience; Additional knowledge and certifications in building trades; and experience working with the public health community.

Travel:  In state travel will be required.  A valid Indiana Driver's License must be maintained during employment.

Work Conditions:  Some work is performed in the field setting and employee must be physically able to access areas of a job site, including the ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, and access tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.  Employee must be able to carry up to 30 pounds of equipment.
