Hendricks County Senior Services is looking for a professional, detail-oriented, strategic thinker to join its leadership team. The Business Manager is responsible for efficient operations and financial, compliance, and human resource functions.

Organization Overview
Hendricks County Senior Services believes that older persons have a right to live with independence and dignity in their own home for as long as possible. Since 1977, the agency has met the needs of older adults by providing a variety of supportive services. Thousands of Hendricks County seniors benefit from a vibrant senior center; compassionate in-home caregiver attendants; professional drivers; and a wide variety of informational and educational programs.

Position Duties
Financial
a. Work with accountant to produce monthly and quarterly reports.
b. Monitor deviations from the budget and inform the Executive Director.
c. Coordinate and manage annual financial audit.

Accounts Payable
a. Check invoices and purchase orders for approval prior to payment/ purchase.
b. Pay verified bills, taking discounts when advantageous for cash flow. Acts as purchasing agent.
c. Research and correct problem accounts.
d. Conduct and oversee maintenance of invoice files.

Accounts Receivable
a. Establish client accounts and process invoices.
b. Prepare records for accounts receivable; follow up as needed for payment.
c. Monitor A/R account, ensuring timely payment and coordinating with appropriate departments.

Grant and Contract Funds
a. Submits timely and accurate claims to CICOA and INDOT.
b. Maintains records by grant for all expenditures and reimbursement received.
c. Processes Medicaid reimbursement as requested.
d. Assists the Executive Director in preparation for compliance reviews.

Payroll & Human Resource
a. Process biweekly payroll using ADP (timely, accurate, correct deductions, maintain records on accrual and use of paid time off).
b. Answer staff question on payroll and benefits.
c. Distribute 1099's and 1096's at year-end.
d. Complete reference checks, background checks, and other required pre-employment checks.
e. Maintain organized and complete employee files.

Compliance
a. Ensure accurate and timely payment of all quarterly and yearly taxes: business, property, sales, payroll, employment, insurance and federal withholding.
b. Ensure accurate and timely submission of the 990.

Money Handling & Banking
a. Prepare bank deposits and enter daily deposits (cash and cards) to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Train other staff as back-up.
b. Work with department coordinators to ensure accurate recording of cash.
c. Maintain an accurate cash drawer.
d. Immediately report discrepancies to the Executive Director.
e. Monitor cash accounts (CD's, Checking, Savings, etc.)

Other Responsibilities
a. Maintain confidentiality in regard to human resource and financial information.
b. Proactive in meeting the needs of staff in reporting and compliance.
c. Purchase and track office supplies within budget limitations.
d. Ensure backup for all data entered.
e. Attend and participate as appropriate in staff meetings.
f. Answer and route phone calls as needed.
g. Perform other tasks conveyed by the Executive Director.
h. Maintain CPR certification.
i. Receive, review, understand, and agree to follow the policies of Hendricks County Senior Services as detailed in the agency's employee handbook.


Position Qualifications
∎ Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required
∎ At least 5 years professional experience in business  or nonprofit environment
∎ Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate ideas and recommendations both orally and in writing
∎ Ability to thrive in situations requiring high degrees of accuracy, timeliness, and deadlines
∎ Affinity for older adults
∎ Strong organizational, interpersonal, and technology skills
