Full-Time, Seasonal/Temporary, Late October - Late December

The Assistant Coordinator works with the United Christmas Service (UCS) Project Manager, social workers, donor groups, and volunteer teams to organize and coordinate the UCS referral applications and donor match program.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.  Develops and maintains relationships with community partners including service providers.
• Acts as a liaison between UCS and participating agencies during online application submission.
• Oversees the verification and completion of online applications in preparation for donor matching   and/or the direct assistance process.
• Assists in the agency voucher issuing process in coordination with the project manager.
• Disseminates vouchers in collaboration with participating agencies.
• Assists with matching donor groups to agencies as needed. Maintains respect for client confidentiality.
• Assists in management of daily operations.
• Assists in the completion of annual program report and make recommendations to improve the program.
• Ensures donors are properly thanked.
• Conveys the mission and benefits of UWCI to general public and community volunteers.
• Promotes a cooperative spirit within the organization and among program participants.
• Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one-year experience working in program or project management required. Must be able to work well with volunteers and staff with minimal supervision. Computer literacy/proficiency and the willingness to learn an online software database program are essential. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be well organized and able to work on multiple tasks at one time.
