The American Camp Association, Inc., a 501C(3) educational association, with offices located throughout the US, seeks a full-time Controller to work from the Administrative Office, located 25 minutes Southwest of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Because of our diverse 11,000 plus membership and our exceptional programs, children and adults have the opportunity to learn powerful lessons in community, character-building, skill development, and healthy living lessons that can be learned nowhere else.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience administering the following accounting activities:           • Making daily bank deposits and cash reconciliations.
• Day-to-day administration of accounts payable, and GL Journal Entries.
• Responsible for month-end general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and investment reconciliations.
• Creating and posting journal entries.
• Monitoring the American Camping Foundation, accounting, deposits, etc.
• Serve as team leader for the Customer Service team
• Member of the ACA Phone group, answering general calls coming into the organization.
• Back up HR Manager on bi-weekly payroll.
• Back up HR Manager on enrolling employees in elected benefits.
• Advancing the mission of the ACA, by being an innovative, thoughtful, communicative and productive member of the ACA, Inc. team.


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least five years' experience in Accounting, Not-for-profit experience preferred, with at least two years being in a supervisory role.
• Experience with Dynamics GP preferred. 
• Experience with payroll processing and administration.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Driver's License.
• Ability to regularly work within the ACA's normal hours of operation of 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday – in the time zone of the primary team's region. Individual work schedules may range from 7:00am to 5:00pm based on time zone of the primary team's region.
