Hawthorne Community Center is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Executive Director.

Hawthorne Community Center  has served the west side of Indianapolis for more than 90 years. As a thriving community center, Hawthorne provides programs and services that include early childhood daycare and preschool, school age programs that include before school, after school, out of school and summer day camp, senior citizen program, Center for Working Families to assist adults with employment, financial coaching, income supports and adult education, recreation, organized sports, social development and community engagement. Hawthorne recently completed a $3.5 million capital project to renovate and add space to its facility and created a $4.7 million endowment. Responsibilities include:

Financial Management:
Ability to fully understand non-profit budgeting Understanding of auditing principles Create and manage cash flow projections Ensure grant and contract compliance expenditures Manage agency financial procedures adhering to agency financial policies

Program Management:
Supervise data collection
Recruit, train, manage and evaluate personnel Monitor and evaluate programs Collaborate with partners to enhance programs/services Assess risk management for staff and participants Ensure that facilities are adequate for programs/services

Board:
Attend all board meetings to provide information and support Support strategic planning efforts and implement administrative elements Ensure that board committees are staffed Monitor board attendance and record keeping Engage board in agency events, activities and fund raising Keep board members apprised of agency issues that might impact operations

Marketing/Fund Raising:
Utilize social media to promote agency and its programs/services Lead efforts to secure necessary funds for financial stability of the agency Create and maintain partnerships to support agency operations Manage grant/contract proposal creation and submission Engage board members, staff and volunteers to plan, implement and evaluate fund raising efforts

Additional Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to lead a management team Excellent time management Ability to lead conflict resolution Highly organized Ability to respect confidentiality among staff and participants Passion for non-profit programs and those served by those programs Appreciation for diversity on all levels

Requirements
Minimum bachelor degree
5 years managing a non-profit agency
Demonstrated experience in leadership
Experience working with a board of directors Documented ability to raise funds through grant writing, fund raising and contract compliance
