The Children's TherAplay Foundation, Inc. a Physical and Occupational therapy clinic in Carmel, Indiana specializing in hippotherapy for special needs children has an immediate opening as a full-time Front Office Coordinator / Medical Billing Assistant.

REPORTS TO:  Medical Billing Manager    

REQUIRED EDUCATION:  An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid and CPR (preferred but not mandatory) 

PREREQUISITE SKILLS:

- The ability multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- The ability to represent the organization in a professional manner at all times;
- The ability to demonstrate organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail;
- The ability to use clear, effective communication skills;
- The ability to adhere to current confidentiality practices (HIPAA);
- The ability to tolerate barn environment including dust and animals.
- Personal accountability to pursue high standards;
- Consistent, orderly approach to the work and meeting the needs of internal and external clients;
- Precise and accurate with details, reports and forms;

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
- Minimum of 1 year billing experience in a busy, non-profit or pediatric outpatient clinic or primary care practice preferred;
- Proficient with medical terminology, CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding;
- Working knowledge of medical insurance reimbursement and current payor website utilization;
- Highly Proficient and Experienced on EMR software and in Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel,  Bloomerang and medical billing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answering and directing incoming calls as well as management of front window;
- Checking in patients;
- Scheduling clinical treatment sessions;
- General office support including but not limited to maintaining office supplies and equipment such as postage machine and copiers;
-Coordinate company calendar;
- Provide general administrative and communication support for staff.
- Foster and maintain excellent professional relationships with patients, providers and colleagues;
- Review and process insurance and patient claims;
- Review denials, correct errors and resubmit claims;
- Respond to patient inquiries relative to insurance billing and assist with all medical insurance billing questions from patients;
- Maintain the computer billing file maintenance;
- Electronic Submission of primary, secondary, tertiary claims;
- Data entry;
- Insurance verification of benefits and eligibility; invoicing;
- Post payments and invoice clients;
- Process credit card payments;
- Other billing related duties as requested.

Hours:  8:00 am – 6:00 Monday-Thursday and 9:00 am – 5:00 on Friday
