The Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis is dedicated to seeking and serving Christ in all persons. This is an extraordinary opportunity for you to be a member of her team to guide and invigorate our diocesan ministries by building resources through traditional and cutting-edge fundraising.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and minimum of five (5) years of fundraising experience for special projects, annual appeals and major gifts. Experience building a robust fundraising operation is a plus. You must demonstrate a high comfort level making "cold calls" to qualify and solicit financial gifts. A collaborative spirit is a must, along with a can-do attitude. Excellent writing and presentation skills are critical for success. Understanding and knowledge of the Episcopal Church or other faith-based organizations are helpful. This position requires time away from the office including some weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • With the Bishop, identify fundraising priorities and craft a strong case for support.
  • Identify, research, cultivate and solicit major donors with particular focus during 2018 on raising matching gifts for the Ministerial Excellence Fund.
  • Work with clergy and congregations to develop awareness and support for diocesan fundraising efforts.
  • Support and cultivate planned giving efforts in the diocese.
  • Work with the Canon to the Ordinary for Administration and Evangelism to provide support and resources to congregations for stewardship as needed.
  • Design and build systems to manage donor database, gift processing, gift acknowledgements and reporting.
  • Develop annual resource development plan and budget.
  • Reports to the Canon to the Ordinary for Administration and Evangelism.
