Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) is a dynamic nonprofit organization with smart, motivated employees who work hard to make an impact in our community.  KIB's vision is a vibrant city, with every neighborhood landscape thriving and well, and its people empowered, mobilized, and devote toward that vision.

The Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for leading the maintenance and stewardship operations of IPL Project GreenSpaces and KIB GreenKids spaces in collaboration with community partners and KIB staff.  The primary goal of the Stewardship Coordinator is to ensure past project partners know how to properly maintain their greenspaces, so that the places continue to be beautiful, safe, and functional from both an ecological and community perspective.  Through a combination of hands-on work days, educational workshops, and quarterly Alumni Club Meetings, the Stewardship Coordinator will educate Greenspace and GreenKids project partners, volunteers, and members of the community about strategies for environmental stewardship and the importance of urban ecology.

The Stewardship Coordinator will also work alongside our Community Engagement staff on the KIB GreenSpace Alumni Club; a network of past project partners, community members and volunteers committed to the long-term success of IPL Project GreenSpace and KIB GreenKids sites.  Members of the Alumni Club have exclusive access to some monetary support through the Stewardship Assistance Program (SAP) Grant, a small grant to provide maintenance and programming dollars for past projects. The Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for designing and leading the Alumni Club meetings and managing the SAP grants program.

The Stewardship Coordinator will lead maintenance projects at GreenSpaces and GreenKids schools and may, on occasion, implement a new IPL Greenspace project.  The Stewardship Coordinator will also work with our Urban Naturalist Program Manager in leading volunteer groups during habitat restoration projects including native plant installations and invasive species removal.
