Direct support to Director of Major Gifts, with emphasis on relationships related to Boy Scouts of America donors and prospects at both the local and national levels.

Position Description

This person is responsible for providing accurate and timely research as needed, both proactive and reactive, related to Boy Scouts of America donors and prospects at the local and national levels.  This person will manage the Blackbaud data entry for Major Gift donors and will provide accurate and timely reports for all Major Gifts related campaigns.  The position will also participate in developing, editing, and implementing a communications strategy for the Crossroads of America Council Endowment, including effective content that focuses on major gifts and individual donor engagement with Scouting for the Endowment's website, promotional materials, newsletters, social media, and other online platforms and communications.

Physical Activity

The employee is regularly required to do light work under indoor environmental conditions, including to sit and work at a computer, and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.  employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, speak fluently and to hear, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Reading, detail work, confidentiality, problem solving, language, stress, training, math, verbal communication, written communication, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions.

Materials and Equipment Used

Personal computer with programs as follows:  Blackbaud, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite; web-based technologies, including knowledge of HTML and Google Analytics; page layout; familiarity with Mac OS; calculator, copier, telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with at least two years' experience working in electronic media, editorial work, advertising, and/or general marketing.

Practical experience and/or an academic background in investigative research, or demonstrated ability to learn the skills to accurately and efficiently provide research services.

Working competence with database search and retrieval.

Excellent verbal communication, writing, editing, and spelling skills, and a high level of comfort with computers, mobile, and tablet devices.

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team player able to work collaboratively and independently.

Strong organizational skills with a willingness to pay close attention to details, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
