The Senior Finance Manager will process, code, and analyze financial transactions and contracts, and will assist with researching philanthropic opportunities, managing grants and writing proposals. 

Complete College America is a national nonprofit with a single mission: to work with states and institutional consortia to significantly increase the number of Americans with quality career certificates or college degrees and to close attainment gaps for traditionally underrepresented populations. 

•         Review, code and process all expenses, such as personnel air-travel invoices, consultant fees, purchased goods, credit-card bills for staff and the organization, rent statements, insurance bills, lodging expenses, meeting and convention invoices, and other accounts payable transactions.
•         Communicate with consultants, other contractors, state and institutional-system representatives for reimbursement and other financial transactions
•         Create and monitor departmental, grants, and organizational budgets, and proactively inform the Vice President for Finance when line-item projection are not aligned with approved budget
•         Prepare budget reports for the CCA Board, and articulate variances
•         Manage travel and expense and fundraising software
•         Conduct research on foundations and grants, and contact foundations for information and to set appointments
•         Prepare grant proposal budgets and grant-expenditure reports, proactively monitor expenditure reports and make adjustments, and explain variances
•         Provide financial information to external auditors and accounting firm to file IRS Form 990 and other tax reports, and to complete the audited financial statements. 

•         Earned associate or higher-education degree in accounting or related fields, or significant relevant financial experience and training
•         Experience processing accounts receivable and accounts payable
•         Experience or training in creating organizational financial statements, expense reports, and budgets
•         Work experience at a college or post-secondary system desirable
•         Knowledge of or experience in grant proposal writing, monitoring and reporting
•         Self-motivated, focused, and very reliable
•         Team player, willing to perform tasks to help others
•         Proficiency in common office software, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other business/finance software programs
