Hiring a positive role model for Blue Triangle Safe Haven who will be available for resident interaction and providing connections to resources when available. This position works with male and female program participants in a pilot program to help identify their skills and abilities in promoting optimal personal growth resulting in the elimination of the cycle of homelessness.

Partners in Housing, an Indianapolis-based non-profit offering affordable housing, is seeking an experienced Evening Coordinator to join our team in our downtown office. Our mission is to provide affordable housing to the people who most need a stable place to live, while giving them support and a chance to reach their highest level of self-sufficiency. Position duties:
• This position requires evening hours: 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
• Help track a success plan with each resident in program which, at minimum, focuses on: permanent housing, financial status, employability, disability, and social behaviors.
• Assist residents in identifying and applying knowledge, skills and behavior related to move from transitional housing in the program to permanent housing.
• Help residents respond to crisis situations and initial anxieties and mitigate potential negative consequences related to these anxieties.
• Work positively with a blended management team to ensure building standards are consistently met. Communicate with team members regarding building operations.
• Advocate as necessary on behalf of residents.
• Participate in continual process improvement to promote organizational development.
• Keep proper and timely records/statistics on activities, including hardcopy file and electronic entries in Client Track.  Quarterly and annual reports are part of this process.
• Attend all required training and staff meetings to ensure individual and professional growth.
• Conduct brief visual room inspections when opportunity naturally arises.
• Manage some basic functions such as laundry money distribution, other necessities distribution, and final room inspection prior to new move-ins.
 
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge, life experience, and work history could waive this requirement.
• Experience with formerly homeless, shelter environment, addiction recovery, or prison re-entry populations preferred.
• Have dependable transportation (public transit that runs during hours of employment is considered dependable transportation).

• Utilize strong, clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Utilize above basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and basic Internet skills.
• Have a clear understanding and respect for formerly homeless persons and individuals with "special needs."
• Practice professional, respectful and discrete behavior.
• Clear ethical boundaries including respect for resident confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Strong preference will be given to those that could mentor from a peer perspective anyone: formerly experiencing homelessness, overcoming addiction, suffering from mental illness, or re-entering from incarceration.
