The General Counsel is responsible for leading tactical legal initiatives for USA Football. The General Counsel provides senior management with effective advice on USAFB strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function and obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Oversee legal services and risk management for football programs operated and products offered by USAFB (Heads Up Football, Rookie Tackle, NFL FLAG, U.S. National Teams, streaming service, digital content)
•  Structure, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts including sponsorship and business development agreements, content licensing agreements, agreements with vendors, event operation agreements, participant releases, and the like  
•  Provide counsel to business clients on a wide array of business and contractual issues while coordinating with other Legal department team members and stakeholders as necessary
•  Support Digital, Communications and Marketing departments with legal advice including on issues such as privacy policies, terms of use, and marketing claims
•  Provide counsel on employment matters and policies
•  Active oversight and management of litigation
•  Manage the successful delivery of services by outside counsel  
•  Manage and enforce intellectual property portfolio
•  Develop and implement operational and risk management processes and procedures and training
•  Administer corporate governance including participation in board of directors meetings
•  Serve as staff liaison to judicial committee
•  Counsel CEO on matters related to USAFB business, strategy, partnerships, governance, risk management and involvement in International Federation of American Football
•  Develop and implement internal and external grievance review process
•  Supervise the organization's SafeSport program

Education: J.D. and Bachelor Degree

Work Experience:
•  Admitted to the Indiana bar or eligible for admission
•  Minimum of six years of experience practicing law
•  Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors
•  Experience managing other attorneys and supervising support staff; experience with cost-effective management of outside legal resources
•  Preferred Education and Experience:
•  Experience in contract drafting and trademark enforcement
•  Experience in non-profit and sports law
