HVAF is looking for a dedicated, personable individual to fulfill duties of a Volunteer Operations Coordinator in an engaging, flexible, and rewarding atmosphere.  The Volunteer Operations Coordinator serves as the point-of-entry and clearing house for a wide and varied array of volunteers, interns, and special projects/events. 

• Telephone. Receive phone calls, gather caller/transaction information, and coordinate with staff for further action.
• E-Mail.  Read/analyze incoming e-mails and coordinate with staff for further action and appropriate response.
• Schedule.  Populate, update, and maintain the Master Events calendar to include volunteer opportunities and special events.
• Facilitate.  Prepare for and facilitate a weekly Systems Synchronization Meeting (aka Sync Meeting).
• Publish.  Prepare weekly written "Tasking Order" to provide shared awareness and enable collaboration.
• Brief.  Prepare and present regular updates to agency staff, volunteer groups, and Board of Directors on volunteer related activities.
• Collaborate.  Assist as-needed in planning, scheduling, and supervising volunteer work groups.
• Collaborate.  Assist as-needed in developing policies and guidelines in concert with other team members.
• Analyze.  Measure, track, analyze, and report specified measures of performance and effectiveness.
• Plan.  Contribute relevant experience and expertise to short- and long-range planning efforts.
• Speak.  Present agency overview/orientation to individuals and groups on- and off-site.
• Recruit.  Track and recruit potential volunteers at various community activities and retain permanent volunteers.
• Publish. Determine volunteer needs in all areas, coordinate with VP of Advancement to publish volunteer opportunities, newsletter stories, and special events.
• Coordinate. Work with VP of Advancement to coordinate volunteer attendance at various fundraising and community awareness events. Schedule volunteer supervision with management team.
• Onboard.  Serve as point-of-contact for volunteers and interns, conduct initial interviews and screenings, completes background checks, match volunteers to jobs/events, create job descriptions, and conduct orientation, training and follow-up surveys.
• Fulfill.  Accommodate volunteers and ensure their expectations of working with the agency are exceeded.

• Military experience preferred (personal experience or relevant family/friend/acquaintance experience)

• Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with others.
• Demonstrated oral, written, and presentation (briefing) communications skills.
• Demonstrated experience in public speaking to groups of 10-100.
• Demonstrated experience in telephonic customer service transactions and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated time management, task management, and administrative organizational skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
• Demonstrated creativity, adaptiveness, flexibility, resiliency, and innovation.
• Ability to inspire trust, cooperation, and camaraderie with co-workers, team mates, and clients.
• Ability to present a positive and professional image and attitude.
• Expressed commitment to continued professional growth and development (life-long learning).
• Associate's degree required in any discipline.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in a detail-oriented technical, administrative, or business-related discipline.
