Jameson Camp believes every child deserves to go to camp. That's why Jameson Camp, an independent not-for-profit camp, works to make camp possible for children and families who otherwise would not be able to attend. For almost 90 years, Jameson Camp has been impacting the lives of young people through an award-winning camp experience, designed to help develop self-respect and confidence. Each year, approximately 75% of our campers reside in households below the poverty level and over half struggle with a social, emotional, or behavioral challenge. Jameson Camp works to make camp possible for children and families who otherwise would not be able to attend camp. Located minutes from downtown Indianapolis and nestled on 130 acres of forest and meadows, Jameson Camp offers a fully accredited residential summer camp for youth ages 5-17 and year-round youth leadership programs for teens. Rental facilities for special events including weddings, outdoor education, challenge courses and retreats provide supplemental income.

Jameson Camp is currently seeking a creative, innovative and engaging Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising program and build financial sustainability through cultivating donor relationships and increasing brand awareness and visibility within the community. Jameson Camp is currently entering the final phase of a $3.8 million capital campaign.  This individual will be a strong and persuasive communicator who is passionate about youth development and will inspire, lead and manage a team of employees and volunteers. The ED will provide overall strategic direction and program development in support of the camp's revenue goals and mission: "to enrich the lives of Indiana youth by inspiring them to discover their strengths." 

The Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Jameson Camp and reports to the Board of Directors. He/she is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
The Executive Director's responsibilities will include:
1. Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission.
2. With the Development Director, lead efforts with developing and creating fundraising strategies and activities through the execution of donor cultivation, community outreach, integration with outside agencies and foundations.
3. Accountable for Strategic Development Plan and is the external face of Jameson Camp.
4. Lead efforts in managing the current Capital Campaign and ensure its completion.
5. Work in collaboration with the Program Director to assist with the design and implementation of programming details for the new financial and organizational capacity.
6. Provide leadership in daily operations including program development, organizational and financial planning.
7. Promote active volunteer participation and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
8. Ensure the organization's maintenance of official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.  
9. Work with Facilities Manager to maintain safety, maintenance upkeep, and planning for future camp capacity.
10. Maintain and develop sound working relationships and be responsible for the recruitment, development, retention and evaluation of camp personnel.
11. See that an effective management team, with appropriate provision for succession, is in place.
12. Practice sound financial management and work with the staff, Finance Committee, and the board in preparing and maintaining an annual budget
13. Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its daily operations as well as build upon an endowment and maintenance reserve to realize the long- term sustainability of the camp.
