Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana innovates, advocates and collaborates to end hunger and malnutrition for our senior, disabled and chronically ill neighbors. 

Position Duties 

  • Direct Client Services, including completing intake, 30 and 90 day follow-up surveys, applications, chart, and physician diet order with new clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the project manager and Meals on Wheels (MOW) team to successfully implement project.
  • Oversee tasks delegated to you by the project manager.
  • Coordinate with all necessary vendors and service providers, and generally ensure that the project is moving forward on time and on budget.
  • Track client meal deliveries.
  • Pick up and transport frozen meals from Eskenazi Health to Meals on Wheels office.
  • Assist with and/or lead presentations to service sites and potential clients.
  • Recruit volunteers.
  • Attend and actively participate in regular project meetings.
  • Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research, reports, letters and email. 

Position Qualifications 

A professional, respectful, discrete and positive attitude is expected at all times while interacting with clients, MOW team, partnering teams and the public. You must always demonstrate a commitment to clients needs and confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:

  • Highly organized, adaptable and self-driven
  • Able to work independently with little supervision and prioritize tasks
  • Courteous phone etiquette and friendly customer-oriented interaction with clients
  • Excellent writing ability and oral communication skills
  • Respectful to deadlines and goals
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS community is not required, but preferred
  • Extraordinary aptitude for dealing with people, always maintaining a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in accuracy, detail, and follow-up
  • Display original thinking and creativity 
  • Ability to work with a map and coordinates for delivery purposes
  • Must be an advanced and competent user of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 


Bachelor's Degree, preferably 2 years' experience in non-profit work. Must demonstrate current social media experience and strong writing abilities.
