Our purpose is to support learning and professional development of nursing professionals through knowledge dissemination. We have over 130,000 active nurse members residing in countries across the globe who are recognized as leaders and scholars. We currently have an opening for a Publications Specialist at our headquarters located downtown Indianapolis, IN. This position assists the Publications team with project management, administrative, and editing functions for Sigma books, websites, and journals.

Main Responsibilities:
• Assist with the book royalty process
• Copy edit, proofread, and format projects for print and electronic publication (books, web, and scholarly journals) as needed
• Post articles and features on Publications team websites
• Perform administrative tasks supporting the creation of print and electronic books
• Serve as liaison for and manage book awards (internal and external)
• Assist Publications team members in managing promotional projects for authors and members
• Create and analyze financial, inventory, and web traffic reports
• Manage external partners (freelancers, printers, etc.) and ensure they meet performance and timing objectives
• Represent the Publications team - route questions/messages to appropriate team members as needed

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in English, project management, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in copy editing, proofreading, and/or project management
• Proficiency in standard Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Previous experience with online forms/applications used for generating reports, compiling, data, updating records
• Print production experience preferred, but not required
• Previous experience with styles and formatting (such as CMOS and APA) preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with online content management systems preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with basic HTML editing preferred, but not required
