The Saving Our Sons Case Manager will provide intensive case management to Saving Our Sons Program participants; assist with facilitating and scheduling life skills, training and job readiness workshops, administer career assessments; monitor client progress in training programs and initiate intervention; assist with job placement and retention strategies.  The Case Manager will also and enter and maintain all client data into departmental spreadsheets and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Facilitate life skills, training and employment workshops for program participants 18-24 years of age;
• Assist participants with developing short and long-term goals, Individualized Professional Plans (IPP)
• Maintain life skills program attendance records;
• Assists with identifying employment and training barriers and makes appropriate referrals;
• Assist with enrollment into local training programs and provide retention services as needed;
• Assist with job placement and address employment barriers as needed;
• Enter client data and outcomes into client tracking system (ETO);  
• Conduct monthly follow-up with program participants;
• Work closely with IUL Training Works Coordinator for enrollment into training programs;
• Work closely with Employment Coach for participant job placement and retention services;
• Attend workshops, seminars  or conferences annually to further enhance skills, knowledge and capacity as a Workforce Development Professional;
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree preferred from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Knowledge of Spanish desirable but not required.
 
READING/COMPREHENSION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations to customers and clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday
