Job SUmmary:
Serves as the managing editor of Precast Solutions magazine, leads the NPCA Blog, manages NPCA's email automation and digital asset management software, serves as primary editor, supports NPCA's meetings, and writes and edits a variety of communication collateral for NPCA's various communication channels.

Essential duties:
• Precast Solutions
 o Creates the editorial calendar and production schedule, researching potential topics and ensuring timely completion of each issue
 o Leads editing
 o Writes and edits stories and handles photography as needed
 o Locates and manages freelancers and industry resources
 o Packages content for the web
 o Coordinates with NPCA's technical engineers and technical consultant
 o Works closely with in-house designer on production
• Leads content, sets calendar and serves as primary editor for the NPCA Blog
• Serves as department lead editor to ensure consistency with AP and NPCA style guides
• Manages NPCA's email automation platform (MailChimp) and suite of member email newsletters, including analytics, timeline and production
• Leads photo and video storage and tagging (digital asset management)
• Primary writer and editor for Precast Express, NPCA's electronic member newsletter
• Writes and edits content for various print and electronic publications
• Provides secondary maintenance and support for the NPCA website
• Writes one Precast Inc. cover story per year
• Supports NPCA's video projects
• Develops ongoing strategy for member communications via social media
• Monitors emerging web/electronic communication technology and opportunities
• Event production
 o Assists VP of Communication with preparation for awards programs and general sessions at NPCA meetings, including speeches and PowerPoints
 o Edits and shares all event photography and video efforts post-event
 o Plans all event social media
 o Supports event publication production
 o Assists with The Precast Show mobile application
• Other duties as assigned

Nonessential duties (include but not limited to):
• Some light lifting (up to 40 pounds) may be required on an occasional basis

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience writing and editing for print and electronic platforms, experience with communications technology such as websites and email automation platforms, and a willingness to learn and grow as a professional.

Minimum qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field and 3-5 years of applicable experience
• Top-tier verbal and written communication skills, including intimate knowledge of AP style a must
• Experience managing a print publication
• Demonstrated experience in website management, including experience in the WordPress platform and basic HTML knowledge
• Familiarity and past experience with the Adobe Creative Suite highly desirable
• Familiarity and past experience with email automation software highly desirable
• Familiarity and past experience with digital asset management software highly desirable
• Familiarity and past experience with photography and videography highly desirable
• Able to travel overnight via airplane
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
