Organization Overview:
The Central Indiana Land Trust (CILTI) preserves the best of Central Indiana's natural areas to benefit plants and animals and allow Hoosiers to experience the wonder of the state's natural heritage today and into the future. Working with willing landowners, we purchase, manage and/or legally protect lands with natural and social significance. To ensure public enjoyment of the lands we protect, we create trails, parking lots and other amenities when feasible.

Position Objectives and Essential Functions:
CILTI is a fast-paced office that incorporates fundraising, membership and communications in our advancement efforts – all in support of our work to identify, protect and care for the best remaining natural areas in Central Indiana. The communications specialist will be joining a dynamic team in a flexible and creative work environment. The position will work to implement a marketing and communications strategy for our membership, targeted audiences and the public.

Supervisor: Associate Director, Advancement

• Plan and execute CILTI's digital marketing strategy, including website, social media presence and enewsletter
• Plan and execute CILTI's print collateral, including the newsletter, brochures and guides
• Write and edit text for email, website, social media, newsletter and publications
• Mange CILTI's communications and outreach calendar, keeping it updated with events, publications and communications

Required knowledge/skills/experience: 
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities in an independent and unstructured work setting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software products
• Exceptional skills in written and oral communications
• Desire to work in a highly collaborative team-based environment; excellent interpersonal skills
• Interest in conservation and passion for nature
• Ability to represent CILTI at public events and to interact with members

Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk several miles per day over rough terrain in all weather conditions.

Education requirements: 
Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
