Central Indiana Youth for Christ, a faith-based nonprofit organization in Indianapolis, is currently seeking an experienced part-time Event Coordinator to manage events. The Event Coordinator will have the responsibility of marketing to current donors, prospective donors and managing all events for the organization. The Event Coordinator will oversee all aspects of event planning and management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: donor events, fundraising events, and ministry awareness events.

Central Indiana Youth for Christ is a non-denominational Christian youth serving organization which provides critically needed services to 11-19 year old youth in Central Indiana.  CIYFC has 16 locations and 6 ministry models; learn more at www.ciyfc.org.

Key duties will include:
• Creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan.
• Coordinating event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation materials and pre/post event evaluations.
• Maintaining a working relationship with venues and sponsors.
• Understanding the complex needs of different events.
• Ensure established budgets are adhered to and provide financial follow up reports.
• Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, organizing staff, welcoming guests, event set-up and take-down.
• Effectively communicating proposals, event ideas and plans to committee members and sponsors.
• Updating and managing event promotion and details on website and social media.
• Maintaining records and documents as pertaining to events.
• Assists in establishing and maintaining cooperative internal relationships with those contacted in the course of work (e.g. Executive Team, Ministry staff and Volunteers, Accounting, other Development staff etc.).
• Working with Staff in determining event volunteer needs, procuring and managing volunteers at events.
• Assists in preparing activity reports (written or verbal) on event progress, post-event follow-up and presenting reports as needed.

Qualifications include:
• Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree with major coursework in English, event planning, communications, or related field.
• Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love.  Individual must be willing to sign and adhere to the YFC Statement of Faith. 
• Ability to multitask.
• Close attention to detail.
• Interpersonal Skills – maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things; works well in a team atmosphere and gets along well with others; prioritizes work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. 
• Adaptability – adapts well to changes in the work environment, manages stress effectively, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
• The ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment with associates and be equally effective working on individual projects requiring minimal direct supervision.
• Oral Communications – speaks clearly, persuasively, and kindly in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and the ability to conduct meetings.
• Written Communications – filling out of forms, communicating via email, routinely edits work for spelling and grammar errors, presents numerical data effectively and able to read and interpret written information.
• Dependability – consistently at work and on time
• Extensive experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and social media.
• Previous experience in event planning, fund-raising, marketing or public relations is preferred.
