Responsible for the development and coordination of all fund raising activities for Wabash Center.  This includes direct solicitation of potential donors for funds – both in person and by written proposal.  This also includes coordination assistance of fund raising special events, or other special events that are integral to maintaining the organization's image in the community.  Also responsible for planning communications regarding agency services and activities, including those of individual business units or divisions.  This position may also include working cooperatively and in consultation with members of the Board of Directors, volunteers, and other department managers to effectively develop and coordinate fund raising efforts and marketing/communications plans.  Key measures of success for the person in this position are the dollars raised for organizational purposes as well as marketing all divisions of the organization to increase revenue for the organization.

Essential Functions:

1.   Will develop and implement comprehensive annual communications and development plan for organization designed to maximize positive public relations exposure and develop donated funds for the agency and/or its divisions.

2.   Will assist in coordination development of annual fund raising plan for organization. 

3.   Will coordinate activities associated with any fund raising appeals or special events held by the agency. 

4.   Will develop and maintain a current donor database and mailing list sufficient to meet the fund raising needs of the agency and its divisions.

5.   Will act as staff  liaison to any committee of the Board of Directors associated with fund raising.

6.   Will develop, or have developed, and maintain up to date audio-visual, photographic, web site(s) and written or printed materials for use with marketing.

7.   Will act as agency liaison with news media, initiating or coordinating contact to positively promote agency services, products and fund raising efforts. 

8.   Will develop, or assist in development of, grant proposals to help raise funds for various aspects of the organization, including program development.

9.   Will be responsible in development of marketing/promotional plans for specific divisions, services, or products.

10.  Will maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the varying time demands of this position (e.g., meetings on weekends or in the evening).  Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

11.  Will coordinate United Way fund raising campaign at Wabash Center, maximizing the employee pledge amount for the agency.

1.   Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or three years of relevant experience.
2.   Excellent command of verbal and written skills as demonstrated by a variety of work samples.
3.   Demonstrated skills in personal fund raising solicitation or BTB sales experience.
4.   Must demonstrate computer literacy, including capacity to utilize database.
5.   Must agree to sign non-solicitation agreement.
