Lutheran Child and Family Services (LCFS) is a social service organization located on the East-side of Indianapolis seeking an Outcome and Data Specialist to coordinate data collection, database management, and analysis and reporting for both program outcomes and fundraising/donor data.

Organization History and Description:
Founded in 1883, LCFS has provided child welfare services in the community for over 135 years.  Initially serving the community as an orphanage, LCFS has continued to adapt and evolve over time to address changing needs of children and families.  The organization currently offers a focused array of child welfare programs through a targeted continuum of care that includes an intensive, secure (locked) residential program to serve youth with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties; an independent living group home for young men; home-based family preservation and counseling services, and emergency shelter care.   LCFS addresses behavioral difficulties that are the result of past histories of complex trauma, often the result of abuse and/or neglect.  Additionally, since the early 1970's LCFS has provided for the basic needs of the most vulnerable in the community through a food pantry and clothing give-away program.

Position Summary:
Lutheran Child and Family Services is seeking a full-time Outcome and Data Specialist.  This position involves collecting required materials and information as well as performing extensive data entry.  Key tasks include obtaining consent for data sharing with United Way from clients/guardians, managing the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database, providing reporting and analytical support for data utilization, and tracking outcomes for compliance and reporting for numerous grants.  Other responsibilities include United Way annual filing, financial reporting, and assisting with preparations for the United Way evaluation process.  The Outcome and Data Specialist will have an integral role preparing for our next accreditation cycle with the Council on Accreditation (COA) .  In addition, this position will oversee all data entry and reporting for the Agency's fundraising database, including the creation of queries and reports to assist development staff, providing training to development staff to enhance effective and efficient data entry and information management, and utilizing software analytics to generate information necessary to target prospective donors and maximize giving of current supporters. 

Primary Functions:
1) Ensure compliance with informed consent process for United Way outcome reporting, including but not limited to data for Alignment and ETO database entry
• Obtain client consent for inclusion in United Way outcome reporting initiatives
• Submit consent documentation to United Way as required
• Retain original consent forms per record retention protocol
2) Collect and securely maintain raw data from LCFS program records including but not limited to the following:
• Client consent forms
• Client demographic information
• Client outcome data, including but not limited to attendance, meals, health indicators, transportation, recreation, and education
3) Prepare data collection summary reports for entry into ETO database and enter all demographic and touchpoint data into ETO database
4) Meet with program staff annually to review/update outcome tracking needs and implement tracking via ETO software; run monthly reports regarding outcome achievement and forward to management staff for review.
5) Track outcome information for all grants and provide support for all grant compliance reporting
6) Assist with United Way reporting requirements, including but not limited to the following:
• Annual filing
• Financial reporting requirements
• Board demographic information
• Program success stories
7) Assist with United Way Alignment and Agency Evaluation process
8) Manage the fundraising database
• Establish data entry protocol and create/maintain data entry guidelines handbook for all fundraising software users
• Ensure compliance with data entry protocol; make adjustments to data as required to promote accurate data reporting
• Create reports and queries as required to assist development staff
• Utilize fundraising software analytics to target prospective donors and maximize giving of current donors
9) Provide quarterly training opportunities for fundraising staff to maximize utilization of fundraising software
10) Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:
• Excellent oral and communication skills
• Detail Oriented
• Proven organizational abilities
• Above average skills utilizing Microsoft Excel
• Database management skills

• One to three years of experience of data reporting and management and/or database management
• HS diploma or GED required; Prefer individuals with Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field
• Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising software preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Work Environment:
The Outcome and Data Specialist will work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., based at the LCFS Administrative office on the East-side of Indianapolis.  Some travel within the State of Indiana will be required to obtain client consents for data sharing with United Way.
