Alpha Chi Omega is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to serve as senior accounting analyst. This individual will report to the Senior Financial Controller of Alpha Chi Omega, the Senior Accounting Analyst and is primarily responsible for the accounting operations of the Alpha Chi Omega National Housing Corporation (NHC), analyzing financial statements, performing day-to-day accounting, and participating in budgeting, audit and tax filing processes.

Position Duties and Qualifications:

Key Duties
•         Serve as lead accountant for NHC: accountable for controls, policies and procedures.
•         Support and contribute to annual strategic plan initiatives.
•         Perform month-end closing activities, including account analysis, banking reconciliations, and recording of journal entries into the general ledger system.
•         Account for property/facility transactions, including maintenance and retention of all pertinent documents.
•         Partner with Housing staff to develop annual NHC budget, incorporating facility budgets and long-term capital.
•         Manage adherence to budget for facility projects and deliver timely reporting on same.
•         Manage NHC audit preparation at fiscal year-end in accordance with outside audit requirements and guidance.
•         Accountable for development of model and process for assessing facility operational sustainability and profitability. Lead iterative process and provide meaningful reporting for stakeholders.
•         Analyze and develop complex financial models and pro formas for new housing initiatives and all capital expenditures.
•         Perform other special assignments and responsibilities as assigned. 

Skills and Competencies
•         Bachelor's degree required with major field of study in accounting, business administration or finance. Additional certifications and designations in the field of accounting and finance are preferred.
•         Minimum of 5 years of progressive, professional experience in accounting and finance.
•         Strong service orientation, effective presentation skills, professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
•         Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
•         Excellent organization skills, self-discipline and attention to detail.
•         Works with a sense of urgency and is able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a rapidly evolving environment.
•         Technically savvy with advanced computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical aptitude to learn internal systems and required packages. Experience with Financial Edge preferred.
