The Director's responsibility will be the ongoing growth of our programs related to schools and health and fitness.  In addition, the Director will lend support and guidance to our local teams, who directly work with our athletes in sports training and competition.

Organization Overview
Special Olympics Indiana serves more than 14,000 Hoosiers with intellectual disabilities through a variety of programs, including over 20 sports, two school-based initiatives, a health and fitness program, and an athlete leadership program. 

Position Duties
• Serve on organization's senior leadership team
• Direct our programs related to schools and health and fitness
• Support the work of our local programs through training and program management
• Frequent evening and weekend work
• Frequent in-state travel, and occasional out-of-state travel
• Physical work involved during event set-up and tear-down

Position Qualifications
• Education:  Bachelor's degree
• Experience in personnel and office management, sports and volunteer management, field of disabilities.
• Experience with Special Olympics or experience in education-based athletic administration
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter
• Strategic thinker
• Innovative
• Ability to create and implement detailed organizational plans that surpass strategic goals
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
