Limited Duration Position - This is a Full-Time, 24-month grant funded position, renewable based on availability of funding.  This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Martin Luther King Center is seeking a team member to join the Neighborhood and Family Advocate project.  This project is a community building and service delivery model for families and youth, that provides intensive programs and services utilizing a co-active coaching model and two-generation approach  This position provides supports to families enrolled in Great Families 2020 and Youth Employment Services programs to reduce barriers to employment, education and stable housing.

• Connect residents to Center for Working Families for employment coaching, job training, placement and retention
• Facilitate agency orientation and intake sessions and assess clients' needs in the areas of housing, employment, emotional/mental health, etc. and make appropriate connections and referrals
• Facilitate Job Readiness workshops and interface with WorkOne, Adult Education and other partners
• Utilize a co-active coaching model to conduct employment focused coaching sessions with individuals to achieve goals developed in the Family Success Plan
• Connect neighbors to neighborhood meetings and community development projects
• Communicate and coordinate with other staff to ensure client satisfaction and positive outcomes
• Maintain client files and electronic case notes in Efforts to Outcomes system
• Track progress toward program outcomes and performance measures in conjunction with Executive Director and Director of Operations.
• Assist Executive Director with grant applications and reporting requirements
• Represent the MLK Center at neighborhood, partner and funder meetings
• Contribute to supportive team atmosphere and shared responsibilities at the MLK Center
• Other duties as assigned

• Submit to a criminal history background check - does not preclude hiring
• Submit to a drug screen
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Strong organization and communication skills is a must
• Five years of experience working with children, families and neighborhoods; three years working in area of employment or workforce development preferred;
• Commitment to mission of MLK Center, while fostering inclusiveness and the values espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
• Computer and Internet proficiency including Microsoft Office
