This position is responsible for the proper coding, recording and processing of all charitable donations to the University including cash, stocks, and gifts-in-kind as well as the entry and maintenance of constituent records within the Advancement database. The ability to type accurately, edit, and work with large sums of money in a high volume data processing environment is critical. The position works closely with other University offices to ensure the timely recording of donor information. S/he must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding constituent information and be able to work independently and as part of a team.  

S/he should have significant aptitude and experience with computers and relational databases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• As appropriate, collect charitable donations received by Advancement, Athletics, Student Accounts, and other University departments; evaluate, sort and total all donations in order to create daily gift batches and process them in a timely and accurate fashion. Analyze gifts to determine appropriate campaigns, funds, and/or appeals for each gift to be processed. Complete deposit slips for daily entries, run daily reports for gift batches, and produce tax receipts for donors.
• Enter constituent data updates for individuals and organizations, including but not limited to, address updates, constituent demographic information, and relationship links.
• Responsible for creating new biographical entities in the database for individuals, organizations, and other entities as needed; researching and analyzing information to populate all appropriate biographical data fields where information is available.
• Assist in maintaining integrity of the database.

Education and Experience:
• Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years' experience in general office environment involving considerable computer work.
• Ideally, work related experience will have been gained in a higher education environment with emphasis on fundraising in an advancement or development office; equivalent or similar experience in a business environment will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service.
