St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, a private, listening and spoken language preschool, is seeking an energetic, multi-talented Operations Administrator.

Organization Description
St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf has been serving the individual needs of children who are deaf or hard of hearing since 1837. SJI teachers and speech-language pathologists help children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn to listen and to speak. Between 20 and 35 students attend the Indianapolis preschool. The Operations Administrator is a key member of the administrative staff reporting directly to the president of the organization.

Provides executive level administrative assistance and carries out administrator tasks on behalf of the President, Director of St. Louis Operations, Board of Directors and outsourced Finance consultant; manages HR functions; oversees & manages facility management/maintenance functions, IT service and equipment needs and serves as the Acting Director of School Operations in the absence of the President.

Position Qualifications
Ability to communicate respectfully and well with all levels of employees and external contacts of the organization. Excellent organization, prioritization, documentation and recordkeeping skills required. Ability to evaluate situations and factual data to make sound judgments. Previous customer service experience is preferred. Ability to work under pressure, remain calm during emergency situations and a professional demeanor required. HR experience required. Experience with accounting, finance, IT, facility management and school operations preferred.

Minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical/trade school in office administration or administrative management; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred; and at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and executive level administrative experience.
