The Indiana Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) is a professional association representing over 1,000 parks and recreation professionals throughout the state.  IPRA provides its members with networking & mentoring opportunities; legislative advocacy; news & information; and professional development opportunities via district and section meetings; advocacy events; training events, workshops, online education, and its annual conference.  The Indiana Park & Recreation Foundation exists to support IPRA and its members by funding education opportunities.  Each year, IPRF provides scholarships for qualified students, as well as professional development grants for park professionals.

Full-time position available for flexible and dynamic individual with development & events education or experience to provide support for our non-profit organizations' development programs.

• Conduct research and develop database of new prospective donors/sponsors/grants
• Assist Executive Director in securing new funding sources via sponsorship, donations, grants
• Prepare marketing and correspondence regarding the organization and its programs
• Assist Executive Director in the planning/execution of fundraising events/activities
• Build/strengthen current relationships with sponsors/donors
• Maintain sponsor/donor records
• Financial tracking of Foundation and Association sponsorships/donations
• Assist with Association & Foundation event planning and execution

• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Position Qualifications/skills

• Bachelor's degree in fundraising, non-profit management or event planning and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area, preferred.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in fundraising. 
• Ability to nurture ongoing relationships with corporate partners to ensure solid retention each year.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.  Editing and proofreading ability.
• Ability to maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Qualified candidate must be able to professionally represent the organization at all times.
• Strong work ethic with excellent time management skills.  Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility for light travel on an as needed basis.
• Proficient in MS Office (Work, Excel, Publisher, Power Point).
• Experience with QuickBooks a plus, but not required.
• Works under Executive Director's supervision.
