The Urban Land Institute is a global, cross-disciplinary membership organization for professionals in land use and real estate, and the Indiana District Council is one of over 50 District Councils in North America. The Associate will report to a  local, full-time Director and is a new local staff position with the primary objective of providing consistent and dedicated support for ULI Indiana event planning and execution (15-20 professional events per year).

Position Duties
1. Assist the Director by managing the timelines and communications related to events. Create and execute against detailed event checklists for 15-20 events per year.
2. Administer ULI event processes:
   1. Complete ULI pre-event and post-event forms and procedures.
   2. Manage ULI event registration processes, including complimentary registrations, badges, and on-site registrations.
   3. Execute tactical communications in support of event timelines and attendance goals.
1. Collect content as needed such as speaker bios and headshots, project graphics, sponsor logos and the like.
2. Collaborate with Communications Chair to determine desired event messaging and timelines.
4. Update ULI IN website in accordance with event timelines.
5. Create and send e-blasts using templates and system provided by ULI central office.
6. Repeat e-blasts as needed to achieve event attendance goals, working within guidelines set by Communications Chair.
7. Support committees in providing event vendor research, selection & management.
8. Support committees in providing for on-site event logistics.
9. Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, which are run through ULI's central office and its established processes and systems.
10. Expedite the work of ULI Indiana committees by coordinating committee meetings including correspondence, scheduling, preparing agendas, drafting meeting minutes, and catering.

Position Qualifications
• BA/BS preferred
• 1-2 years related professional experience required; may include internships and volunteer work
• Professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public-sector executives
• Strong event and project management capabilities
• Ability to initiate and prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely with responsible follow-through and minimal supervision.
• Ability to approach work from a strategic perspective and identify processes and gaps, yet also must be able to identify tactics and execute at a very detailed level
• Ability to provide courteous customer service and professional relationships with staff, contractors, and volunteers, members and sponsors in fast-paced environment.
• Desirable: Interest in real estate and land use. Experience in nonprofit administration, marketing, and/or community relations.
• Technology
 o Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Willingness and ability to learn other ULI-provided systems.
 o Desirable: Familiarity and proficiency with website application such as WordPress and/or bulk email applications.
 o Plus: Familiarity and proficiency with graphic programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or similar applications.
• Ability to attend early-morning and evening events throughout the Central Indiana region as needed; provide own transportation.
