Develop and implement strategic fundraising opportunities for The Damien Center and to cultivate donor relationships.  

Overview of The Damien Center:
As the largest ASO in the state of Indiana, we provide services to more than 25% of all individuals living with HIV in the state. By making our wide variety of programs and services available in-house, we utilize a one-stop-shop approach to caring for those affected by HIV and preventing its spread. We work to reduce the amount of HIV and increase the amount of healthy, immune-boosting cells in our patients' bodies, improving the health of clients and our community.

Our mission is to empower communities and persons affected by HIV/AIDS in the state of Indiana by being a leading resource, provider, and advocate for comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education, and related services.

We envision Central Indiana free of the suffering caused by HIV/AIDS. Until then, we envision that every HIV-affected person in Central Indiana knows that The Damien Center is a safe and welcoming place so that no barriers separate people from the services they need to prolong and enhance their lives.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop strategies to recruit prospective donors
• Oversee relationship management with existing donors and throughout the community
• Write/Review all development related communications
• Manage all major fundraising events and create new special events
• Achieve fundraising goals/outcomes established by President and CEO
• Plan and implement a capital campaign
• Supervise resource development department
• Guide President and CEO and Board of Directors on major donor acquisition
• Develop donor recognition programs and marketing strategies
• Assist Board of Directors in the development of an annual fundraising plan
• Prepare data-driven fundraising outcomes and reports
• Collaborate with Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator as needed
• Support and attend key Damien Center events
• Attend staff and department meetings
• Oversee management of donor database
• Oversee development and implementation of planned giving program
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends
• Attend Board of Directors meetings and help manage Development Committee

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfort with public speaking
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with a donor software system, particularly Raiser's Edge or DonorPerfect
• Knowledge of trends in the fund development sector
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to manage fundraising events

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Fundraising certifications: Certificate Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), preferred

Must have 7 years of development experience specializing in the following areas:
o Fundraising
o Individual and planned giving
o Capital campaign planning and implementation
o Special event planning
o Major donor development
