The Program Coordinator is a grant funded position and directly responsible for coordinating the Tobacco Free Delaware County Coalition.  This includes leading the development, organization, and implementation of the work plans approved and funded by the State Department of Health/Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission (TPC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Provide oversight and manage the details of each phase of the TPC funded tobacco control program in Delaware County
o Recruit public schools selected to conduct the Youth Tobacco Survey
o Communicate program goals and successes to professionals, decision makers, community leaders and sub-contractors
o Ensure accurate collection, evaluation and reporting of data required for reports to TPC
o Guide recruitment of organizational representatives with diverse backgrounds to serve on the coalition
o Manage logistics and resources for monthly coalition meetings
o Conduct and/or coordinate trainings and presentation on tobacco-related health issues, standards, policies and best practices to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke
o Work with health care providers, businesses and other organizations to educate about evidence-based tobacco control practices, assist with policy development and implementation, and collaborate with them to increase referral and acceptance rates to the Indiana Tobacco Quitline
o Develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with key local, county-wide and state-wide stakeholders and the media to ensure involvement in tobacco control initiatives
o Formulate strategic plans for sustainability with guidance from the coalition and stakeholders
o Provide accurate and timely tobacco control information to local, state, national and international media outlets
o Be available to travel in-county and to other locations in the state several times per year for trainings or meetings. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner
o Excellent organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required
o Maintains marketing and networking skills
o Ability to present and speak comfortably and confidently in front of coalition and community partners
o Ability to work collaboratively with a team; as well as individually
o Ability to travel as needed

o A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Science, Education or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
o Familiarity with tobacco control efforts in Indiana and 1-2 years of tobacco control experience preferred.
