This Addiction Recovery Case Manager provides counselling, Biblical and spiritual guidance, and recovery programming for long-term guests in the Higher Ground Addictions Recovery Program at Wheeler Mission's Center for Women & Children.  They are responsible for assisting participants through case management, education, and emotional/spiritual counseling during the addiction recovery process.

The Addiction Recovery Case Manager's (CM) duties include tasks within the following areas:
a. Biblical Teaching:  Leads women through the recovery program that is founded in both addictions research and Christian, Biblical-based discipleship that focuses on full spiritual, emotional, and physical recovery.
b. Case Work: Provides case management services for a diverse population of women that may include, but is not limited to, assessment of client's strengths, resources and needs, crisis intervention, information and referral, all directed toward achieving total stability for each client.
c. Coordination of Services: Will work corroboratively with other staff members and the client to help the client achieve goals. The CM will work with the Case Managers from other phases of the Higher Ground program to coordinate care for the program participants and allow for ease of transition.  The CM will also work with the Education Coordinator, Program Director, appropriate outside providers, CWC Director and other case managers to coordinate care for those in the Higher Ground program.
d. Planning: Develop a care plan with written goals and methods to help the client achieve the Benchmarks determined for the Higher Ground program. The CM will monitor the effectiveness, appropriateness and efficiency of the plan, modifying as needed.
e. Record Keeping: Maintains appropriate documentation of client sessions for identifying information, agency referral and follow-up. The Case Manager will retain this information on a database that can easily be shared when needed.
f. Legal: Takes appropriate action according to the established protocol of the organization, maintaining client confidentiality in all areas following biblical definitions of ethical conduct and behavior.
g. Administrative:  Attends staff meetings and completes other duties as assigned by their supervisor. 

Qualified candidates for the Addiction Recovery Case Manager (CM) position will possess the following qualities or experience:
a. The CM must possess a sincere love for the Lord and a desire to see individuals come to a personal relationship with Christ and grow in Him.  They must be comfortable in biblical teaching and have an ability to disciple to those in their care.
b. The CM must possess a minimum of a BA/BS in a related field of study or equivalent experience (mental health, addictions, Biblical Counselling, discipleship, etc.)
c. The CM must be flexible and able to work with homeless women from various backgrounds and at different skill levels and have experience working with addictions.
d. The CM must have experience working with women and children who may have experience substance abuse, mental illness, trauma, domestic violence, or homelessness.
