The Membership Development Coordinator is responsible for AIA Indiana member retention and growth. Through personal outreach to current and prospective AIA Indiana members of all levels, the Coordinator will identify member needs, gather member feedback, connect members with existing services, programs and resources, facilitate positive member experiences and grow member engagement with the organization. The Coordinator is also charged with facilitating the effective planning and implementation of programs and activities for AIA Indiana and its local sections.

Organization Overview
AIA Indiana represents the interests of and provides services to more than 750 architects and affiliated design professionals. In addition to the state organization, four independently-governed AIA sections, operated by volunteer boards and committees, provide localized programs and services to the members and the communities they serve.

Position Duties

Membership
•          Increase number of Architect members above current levels
•          Increase number of Associate members above current levels
•          Increase number of Firm members
•          Develop plans for membership retention and growth
•          Compile monthly membership reports for board meetings. Reports will include new, renewed, and reinstated members
•          Work with AIA Indiana FAIA Advisory Board Member to identify candidates for fellowship and coordinate initial informational meeting and submittal packets
•          Work with local AIAS (student) chapters to promote growth and involvement in AIA among students
•          Primary contact for current and prospective AIA, Associate AIA, AIAS and Professional Affiliate members regarding membership administration, sales, renewals, and general membership questions
•          Conduct member and prospective member visits or phone calls each week
•          Help identify members to recommend for AIA committees and boards, as well as candidates for civic boards, commissions and other civic opportunities of mutual benefit to AIA and the member
•          Serve as main point of contact to AIA National's membership department
•          Provide section membership reports as requested by non-staffed sections
•          Provide section membership lists to all sections as requested and on a periodic schedule. 
•          Section support as needed
•          Attend Section meetings

Programs
•          Continuing Education Event planning and coordination
•          Maintain certification with AIA National CES Program
•          Report CE credits for participants as is appropriate
•          Approval of all courses through AIA and other necessary entities
•          Develops and maintain programs' budgets and timelines
•          Arranges catering, A/V, equipment and facilities for programs and events
•          Serves as liaison to facility coordinator for each program or event
•          Attends AIA Indiana Board meetings to provide insight on current and future programming initiatives; attends local board meetings as needed
•          Provides support to all programs committees/task forces as requested by the Executive Director
•          Advises program committees and committee chairs on general program operations
•          Attends and supports committee meetings, programs, and events
•          Develop and provide AIA Indiana Certificate continuing education programs
•          Directs on-site volunteers
•          Works with the Executive Director to promote programs and events
•          Collects program evaluation data including surveys, attendance records and budget analysis

Position Qualifications
Four-year degree.
