The Manager of Community and Corporate Engagement is an integral member of the advancement department and responsible for assisting the Director of Community and Corporate Engagement in securing support from corporations and other community organizations for program, operations, events and capital needs.  This Manager will focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporate support and collaborates with advancement colleagues who work with individuals and foundations to also increase donor participation in these areas.   Important to retaining and building corporate sponsorships is follow up communication by this Manager to keep donors engaged year over year.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Develop and execute annual fundraising activities by building relationships and engaging corporate and community organizations
 o With direction from the Director of Community and Corporate Engagement, execute strategies to meet goals, objectives and budgets to realize successful fundraising.
 o Solicit corporate sponsorships for the organization's programs.
 o Develop, plan and implement new fundraising strategies designed to increase funding from corporations and capitalize on sharing ideas for increased fundraising from foundations and individuals via events.
 o Create and present customized proposals and follow-up to secure sponsorships and support.
 o Collaborate with the Director of Community and Corporate Engagement Director and Volunteer Manager to identify and cultivate new corporate partners and elevate engagement of current corporate partners.
 o Track and report progress on event development/sponsorship plan on a weekly basis with supervisor and monthly basis with advancement colleagues and Board.
 o Assist with development and implement plans to grow corporate giving across organizational opportunities; this includes food bank program sponsorships, events, volunteer experiences with community and corporate groups, etc.
 o Manage identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process for portfolio of corporate and community partners and track/log contacts in DMS.  Examples include 1:1 visits, substantive phone calls, attending corporate events, preparing custom sponsorship and written proposals, providing follow-up reports or presentations, developing creative acknowledgement communications, and noting special touches.
 o Identify, contact, and engage new corporate entities through means such as scheduled on site volunteer times, introductory emails, personal communication, networking or corporate events, and Board-leveraged appointments.
 o Educate the corporate community about our mission and needs.
 o Cultivate corporate relationships through in-person meetings, facility tours and general communication.
 o Organize and expand fundraising networks throughout our 21-county service area.
 o The Manager coordinates with the marketing and communications staff for integral support to ensure invitations, messaging for proposals and other marketing tools are provided.
 o Provide appropriate donor/corporate recognition before, during and after events and program sponsorship.

• Administration
 o Manage budgets within purview of supervisor. 
 o Contribute to the development of the fundraising budget and goals.
 o Maintain accountability to administrative systems and procedures, including submitting expense reimbursements, credit card reconciliations, invoices, etc. in a timely fashion or by deadlines assigned.
 o Ensure appropriate staff informed of events and logistics/needs for the organizational calendar. 
 o Keep Outlook calendar updated to provide transparency on weekly activities and tasks, to promote productive time management and to aid in collaborative engagement with advancement staff. 
 o Participate actively in staff meetings, retreats and Board meetings when requested.
 o Contribute ideas and content for communications and marketing materials, especially as related to programs, events and volunteer and community engagement.
 o Ensure quality communications follow all gifts to provide thanks and documentation to donors.

• Manage outside vendors and consultants as related to corporate and community engagement
 o Coordinate with vendors and consultants to provide effective communication, feedback, details, counsel, evaluations, and accountability in managing vendor and consultant partnerships and duties.  Capitalize on vendor and consultant expertise to ensure goals realized.  Coordinate with food bank colleagues and vendor/consultants when needed. 
 o Secure and manage interns when warranted.  Examples of these intern duties include researching corporate prospects, compiling and organizing information for custom proposals, inputting donor contacts into the database to track progress and next steps, and assistance with tasks related to executing programs as well as administrative assistance needed.  Provide mentoring and evaluation to interns. 

Skills/Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities an individual needs in order to perform this job successfully.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in related field.
• Experience in non-profit fundraising preferred.
• Understanding of corporate gift solicitation/sales and relationship management.
• Working experience with CRM systems.

Language Skills:
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
• Ability to professionally communicate with all audiences (volunteers, donors, corporate contacts, staff members, etc.) 
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of volunteers, general public, media and staff; an attentive listener.

Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
• Strong math skills with the ability to analyze data.
• Experience with coordination and preparation of project budgets.
• Continuous improvement methodology.

Technical/Computer Skills:
• Proficient at Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, Access, and Excel
• Knowledge of and familiarity with donor database systems/CRM and online advocacy tools a plus
• Ability to work a computer, copier, fax machine, telephone, calculator
• Ability to operate a cell or smart phone for all hours access

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
• Valid driver's license/Clean driving record /Must be insurable by company vehicle insurance provider.
