Under the direction of the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, the HR Manager will lead efforts that maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruitment: Assist hiring managers in their efforts to fill gaps through workforce planning, creating and advertising job postings, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting preliminary interviews and coordinating hiring efforts. Prepare offer letters and manage the onboarding process to ensure that new hires are properly screened and transitioned into their new roles. 

• Compensation and Benefits: Contribute to the development and implementation of a competitive pay and benefits structure. Negotiate group health coverage rates with insurers and coordinate activities with the retirement advisors. Manage open enrollment, qualifying event changes, and claims. Process biweekly payroll, manage paid-time-off balances, and ensure that wage and tax reports are filed in a timely manner.

• Compliance: Understand and implement policies and practices to support labor and employment laws. Ensure that we operate compliantly to avoid complaints based on unfair employment practices, unsafe working conditions and general dissatisfaction with working conditions. Be well-versed on federal and state employment laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), and many other rules and regulations.

• Employee Relations: Work to strengthen the employer-employee relationship through measuring job satisfaction, employee engagement and resolving workplace conflict. Assist supervisors in developing performance management tools to maximize employee strengths and weaken areas for improvement.
• Training and Development: Provide employees with the tools necessary for their success which may include extensive orientation training, leadership training, lunch and learn series, professional development, tuition assistance programs, etc.

• Employee Relations: Work to strengthen the employer-employee relationship through measuring job satisfaction, employee engagement and resolving workplace conflict. Assist supervisors in developing performance management tools to maximize employee strengths and weaken areas for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform at satisfactory. 

• Bachelor's degree in human resources with five to seven years of experience in an HR position preferred. SPHR or SHRM – SCP credentials a plus!  A combination of experience and credentials will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Solid HR knowledge base with the ability to research and interpret statutes and codes.
• Approachable and warm with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to remain unbiased and confidential.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, in both written and oral formats.
• Detail oriented, organized with an ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible.
• People-oriented, team player that is self-motivated with strong problem solving and time management skills.
• Possess technical knowledge with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
