The Data Entry Specialist assists the database manager in the gathering and accurate recording of donor information. Daily tasks require a high level of accuracy and include cash handling, donor communication, data request fulfillment, and reporting using Raiser's Edge NXT.

DUTIES:
The Data Entry Specialist's duties include tasks within the following areas.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
a. Assists the Database Manager in the daily administration of the Data Department as directed or assigned, including but not limited to gift processing, reporting, donor communication and data request fulfillment.
b. Processes all incoming funds, both donations & receivables, accounting for each item and/or storing them appropriately. This includes using the correct lockbox, batch and online gift processes, as well as bank deposit preparation and delivery.
c. Records all donor, vendor, event participant, donation, receivables, and fee information accurately in donor database using the required protocols and methods at all times.
d. Maintains professionalism, thankfulness, and positive outlook when handling donor request through mail, e-mail, in person, and over the phone including credit card donations, prayer requests, changes of address, mail selection changes, tribute gift notifications and other items requested by donors.
e. Prepares lists for donor solicitation, donor acquisition and donor stewardship programs as directed by the database manager.
f. Tracks communication with donors using the provided protocols to assign appeals, add actions and create notepads on donor records.
g. Creates and maintains ongoing reporting procedures as required on regular schedules. Assessing reports for accuracy prior to sending to the appropriate individuals or entities.
h. Completes database upkeep tasks as requested and shows initiative to identify and resolve inaccuracies on an ongoing basis. Displays an understanding of the value of the data held within the database.
i. Supports the accounting department in resolving financial balancing inconsistencies and providing requested reports for the annual audit.
j. Learns receipting and monthly reminder processes to provide back up support to the development associate in his/her key responsibilities.
k. Participates in ministry fundraising events and provides donation support as requested.
l. Attends weekly departmental meetings. Engages in training meetings as provided and seeks opportunities to grow in fundraising and data management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates for the Data Entry Specialist position will possess the following qualities or experience:
a. Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love.  Individual must be willing to sign and adhere to the WMM Statement of Faith. 
b. Aptitude for databases with a high level of detail orientation, accuracy and problem solving.
c. Interpersonal Skills – maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things, responds to donor requests with kindness and attention to detail 
d. Adaptability – adapts well to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events while consistently producing the required results.  The ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates and be equally effective working on individual projects requiring minimal direct supervision.
e. Communications – speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, makes donors & co-workers feel valued through written or verbal information
f. Dependability – consistently at work and on time, willing to work overtime when required, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve personal performance, and completes tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
g. Other Required Education and Experience:
   1. Minimum of high school degree or its equivalent
   2. An ability to type a minimum of 45+ words per minute with a high degree of accuracy
   3. Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software
h. Preferred Education and Experience:
   1. A bachelor's degree
   2. Experience in Blackbaud's donor database the Raiser's Edge.
   3. Possess a valid state issued driver's license.
