Seeking an experienced leader to provide motivation, purpose and direction to a staff of approximately 50 talented professionals, a collaborative Board, dedicated volunteers and involved stakeholders.  Successful candidate is a visible leader in the community with a passion to create social change through advocacy, delivery of needed services and charting the organization's ability to enrich the lives of its constituents.   This role oversees a $5.5 million budget, while continually finding ways to grow revenue and identify efficiencies.

The Damien Center is a national leader in HIV/AIDS prevention and care.  Our mission at The Damien Center is to empower communities and persons affected by HIV/AIDS in the State of Indiana by being a leading resource, provider and advocate of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education and related services.   By making a wide variety of programs and services available in-house, we utilize a one-stop-shop approach to caring for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Primary Responsibilities
1.     Visionary and Leadership. 
• Works with the Board of Directors, staff and community to establish a compelling vision and strategic objectives that advances the organization.
• Understands how to utilize an integrated framework to achieve desired results
• Monitors and acts on significant trends at the national, state and local levels

2.     Fundraiser
• Proven track record of generating resources and identifying multiple revenue streams.
• A consummate networker. Serves as primary spokesperson for The Damien Center and sought after as an advocate, advisor and subject matter expert on HIV/AIDS related issues.

3.     Business Acumen
• Oversees finances, preparation of annual budget and sound monetary controls.
• Navigates HIV/AIDS Federal/State/Local funding complexities, ensuring The Damien Center has the funds to fulfill its mission.
• Develops and monitors key performance indicators to ensure delivery of high quality programs and anticipated progress on goals are achieved.

4.     Relationship Builder
• Builds strong, long lasting relationships with public/private funders, civic leaders and community volunteers.
• Promotes public policy and serves as a lead convener statewide to AIDS service organizations.

5.     People Leadership
• Attracts and develops an inclusive leadership team committed to creating an environment where staff is engaged, empowered, held accountable, receives ongoing training and is representative of its constituents.
• Fosters two-way communication and builds succession plans for key leader roles.

Education, Experience, Knowledge
• Bachelor's degree with a Masters preferred in business, human services or public health administration or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 7 years, preferably 10 years, of experience leading an organization with a changing landscape and complex funding streams.
• Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS preferred, a drive to enrich the lives of those affected and passion for preventing its spread,
