Regional nonprofit Christian ministry in South Central Indiana seeks like-minded Development Director. The objective for this position is to apply Biblical stewardship principles in relational fundraising, cultivating genuine and mutually beneficial relationships between the ministry and its partners in a way that maintains and expands philanthropic support.

Position Duties:

• Identify and build relationships with new and prospective donors, and maintain long-term relationships with existing donors. Help them accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a deepened relationship with our organization by actively listening to all constituents, focusing on their needs while identifying mutual benefits.
• Attend community events that provide opportunities for donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Identify and suggest potential volunteers and board members to appropriate department leaders.
• Oversee production of printed materials designed to engage, inform and inspire our supporting constituency (donors & volunteers). These include but are not necessarily limited to the annual report and quarterly newsletter.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of DonorPerfect. Keep donor profiles up-to-date and track donor communications in DonorPerfect to support the stewardship process and ensure organizational memory of donor relationships.

• Actively work with the board and Executive Director to develop, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive development strategy including annual fund giving, major gifts, grantsmanship, planned giving, special events, and donor/community relations.
• Make direct, face-to-face solicitations (beyond event sponsorships), and assist the board and other staff with their solicitation (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications).
• Work with the board, Executive Director and other development personnel to implement annual fundraising events.
• Provide oversight and help for fundraising and outreach events within the local communities, including banquets, golf outings, baby bottle campaigns and #GivingTuesday:
   o Secure corporate sponsors for annual fundraising events (banquets and golf scramble).
   o Secure matching funds for #GivingTuesday.
   o Secure table hosts for banquets.
   o Secure captains for the golf scramble.
   o Provide appropriate follow-up after the events.
   o Provide oversight for coordination of baby bottle campaigns between office manager and development staff/local churches.
   o Develop event sponsorship levels and benefits.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with grant making entities, working with the Executive Director to develop fundable project proposals and grant requests in line with established organizational goals and objectives (strategic plan).
• Generate new ideas that increase revenue and donor loyalty.

• Collect, manage, monitor and analyze donor data and the progress of the development program. Prepare meaningful reports showing results and trends.
• Work with and assist the board on methodologies, resources, and tools for the board's fundraising efforts. Track annual board giving.
• Attend task force and board meetings as required to facilitate the involvement of volunteers in the fund development process.
• Oversee the Bartholomew County Advocacy Team.
• Serve on a Clarity "Executive Team" to address organizational issues in a cross-disciplinary manner..  
• Oversee the development budget and monitor expenses.
• Provide supervision to other development personnel, including at least an annual review.
• As staffing needs arise, interview candidates, and on-board well-qualified personnel
