The Department of Sponsored Projects Administration at Ball State University is accepting applications for a full-time Proposal Development Specialist.  Join Ball State University's College of Health researching and supporting the preparation and facilitation of external grant proposal development to funding opportunities with federal, state, local, international, corporate, and non-profit funding agencies. This position will work directly with faculty and administrators to help enhance the research profile of the College. Responsibilities include; Research and support the preparation and facilitation of comprehensive external grant proposal development and submission to funding opportunities with federal, state, local, international, corporate, and non-profit funding agencies of interest to the College of Health.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  Experience in having prepared and/or submitted several grant proposals to funding agencies that were granted/issued; experience facilitating collaborations between multi-disciplinary/diverse sets of professionals.  Evidence of managerial, technical, and organizational skills; excellent writing and research skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Professional suite of products; ability to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines; excellent attention to detail. 
Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree; Research Administrator's Certificate (CRA).  Two years of experience in having submitted grant proposals to funding agencies in excess of $100,000; knowledge and/or experience with federal, state, local, international, corporate, and non-profit funding agencies of interests to the College of Health; knowledge and/or experience with organizations that solicit international projects (e.g., USAID, U.S. Department of State, World Bank); experience in work related to the mission of the College of Health and developing countries in regards to international health concerns; experience in working in collaborative project-based settings.  Knowledge of various funding agency requirements and proposed submission procedures; understanding of university sponsored programs and grant procedures.
