The Marketing Manager of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra is the primary contact for subscribers, single ticket buyers and media, having responsibility for engaging the community through all marketing, external communications (print, radio, and electronic), marketing procedures, and marketing collaborations.  The position has primary responsibility for utilizing the patron database and website as a tool to further advance the ICO, as well as primary responsibility for box office and front-of- house management. 
 
Organization Overview
The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra (ICO) advances and promotes music composed for the small orchestra through professional concert performances and education programs.  Comprised of 34 musicians, the ICO annually presents a seven-concert series, provides orchestra accompaniment for other arts organizations, and offers an array of education and outreach programs for all ages. Now in its 34th season, the ICO is professional Orchestra-in-Residence at the Schrott Center for the Arts, Butler Arts Center and is under the artistic direction of Matthew Kraemer.
 
Position Duties
 
Marketing and Promotion
• Develop an overall marketing plan (with budget) to engage existing and new patrons
• Provide database analysis to assist in new marketing tactics for audience development.
• Foster relationship with local media, issue press releases, develop and maintain overall season media plan.
• Oversee timely production of all promotional materials including, but not limited to brochures, enewsletters, post cards, advertisements, media relations, blog posts, and social media.
• Design and prepare regular email newsletters for concert and event promotion, audience engagement.
• Manage ICO social media initiatives (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, other).
• Manage ICO website.  Serve as liaison to website designer, monitor and update website regularly.
• Prepare monthly marketing reports to compare performance against established goals including annual subscribers, ticket sales, marketing budget spent and ROI, and general patron demographic information as well as overall website, social media and other digital performance.
• Serve as ICO representative to Arts Marketers group and ex officio member of the ICO Audience Development Committee.
 
Database Management and Development
• Oversee maintenance of all donor records and ticket records in patron database.
• Oversee individual donation process and records, working with Executive Director to coordinate the individual annual fund campaign.
• Coordinate and query names for all mailings – box office or development.
• Assist Executive Director with donor cultivation and fundraising efforts, e.g. donor events.
• Assist the Executive Director with Development proposals and prospecting through use of the patron data base and other technology tools, e.g. Wealth Engine.
• Assist with developing new fundraising initiatives, especially efforts through website and other electronic methods.
• Assist with preparation of support materials, e.g. presentations, brochures
• Assist ICO gala committee as needed.
 
Project Management
• Set, monitor and meet marketing deadlines.
• Supervise partners/vendors to ensure delivery of a quality product on time and within budget
 
Box Office & Concert Support
• Oversee ticket ordering processes, including order processing and fulfillment, seat assignments, and box office reconciliation.
• Liaison to Butler Arts Center for box office and front of house needs
• Utilize electronic communications capabilities within the patron database to engage patrons, e.g. pre-concert emails and post-concert surveys, periodic newsletters.
• Maintain and analyze ticket purchase information for future marketing efforts.
• Supervise and arrange for all Front-of-house management, manage Box Office at ICO concerts.
• Assist with preparation of printed programs.
 
General
• Such other duties as may be required.
 
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Three to five years of marketing experience
• Strong understanding of marketing and brand management principals
• Experience with web technology, email marketing and blogging
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
• Experience with Word Press preferred
• Experience with Patron Manager or Salesforce platform for CRM preferred.
 
Other considerations
• Candidate must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
• Position requires some lifting and transporting marketing materials to and from various venues.
• Candidate must have a car.
