The Indianapolis Art Center is looking for a talented and outgoing individual to manage the Art Center's social media outlets, write and edit content, evaluate and analyze current online communications, in addition to assisting departments with communication projects and campaigns.
Essential Job Functions:
1.   Manage social media pages, profiles and sites.
• Maintain social media channels to ensure content is not only current and accurate but also fresh, informative and appealing.
• Create content presented on websites and blogs.
• Craft and collaborate on social media campaigns for fundraising purposes.
• Manage paid social media campaigns, including content creation and curation, audience targeting and budget optimization.
• Create and manage a social media schedule to keep posting and content timely and consistent.
• Work with Communications team to obtain all necessary assets including image and creative for content posting.
• Suggest new topics to cover and continue to improve upon existing content.
• Maintain and manage a full workload using time management, project scheduling and multitasking.
2.   Content creation, writing, editing and interdepartmental collaboration.
• Collaborate with Communications and other departments to ideate, research, fact-check, create, edit and evaluate meaningful and engaging content for multiple end uses.
• Maintain content editorial calendars for distribution internally and externally.
• Work with key internal and external stakeholders to determine how promotions, events, campaigns and initiatives can be best supported through good content creation.
• Interview, write and edit content for member and donor communications and media releases.
• Organize and create current press contact lists for new media distribution.
• Edit and proof content for class publications, advertising and marketing collateral.
• Manage content to reflect the Art Center's image and identity.
3.   Evaluate, analyze and report on current and future communication strategies.
• Develop effective strategies for a variety of social media sites, campaigns and content production
• Track and report on analytics for social media sites as well as the Art Center's website.
• Identify new content opportunities, explore ways to repurpose existing content throughout our sites, monitor website traffic, respond to website feedback and offer suggestions to content based on website analytics and usability.
• Conduct social media reviews and provide regular results reports.
• Adopt better content creation practices through frequent testing of new content.
• Work with Communications and other departments in strategic communications planning and aid in maintaining a functioning master communications calendar.
4.   Manage and maintain consistent content and communications that reinforce the mission, image and identity of the Art Center.
• Create, write and manage content to achieve internal goals and be a voice for the Art Center.
• Work with both internal and external partners to align with the Art Center's style, voice, brand and identity to ensure a consistent brand experience for the Art Center's audiences.
• Work to ensure consistency and collaborate with departments to produce quality messaging.
• Manage discussion posts and maintain that posts and content is not violating any laws or are inappropriate in any way.
• Respond to questions, concerns, comments and inquiries across all platforms while maintaining the Art Center's voice, mission and identity.
Competency Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Platforms and 3-5 years relevant experience required. Writing, editing, communication, interviewing and social media skills highly encouraged.
Education and Experience:
A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in
Communications, Journalism, English or a related field.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Individuals must be able to move freely about the work site, lift and carry 50 lbs several times daily.
• Individuals must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
