Westminster Neighborhood Services (WNS) is looking to hire a full-time Volunteer Coordinator.  This position will be responsible for WNS volunteer program including recruitment, retaining, and recognizing volunteers. 
 
Westminster Neighborhood Services provides basic human necessities and educational opportunities to support and empower at-risk children and families on the near eastside of Indianapolis.  Programming includes K-8 Afterschool and Summer program, food pantry, and a soup kitchen.  Westminster partners with organizations to also offer Adult Education, Medical services, and Counseling. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
 
•  Volunteer Management
 o Recruit new volunteers through volunteer fairs, church visitations, community meetings, online postings, etc.
 o Coordination of all volunteer activities with staff to ensure quality volunteer experience and efficient usage of volunteer time.
 o Managing volunteer records and correspondence as well as maintain volunteer databases so that communication and scheduling can happen smoothly.
 o Track and record volunteer hours and allocate hours as designated by program
 o Communicate with WNS staff and volunteers about volunteer opportunities, calendars, and schedules.
 o Work with the Department Directors to develop joint projects and recognition events.
 o Serve as first line of contact for inbound volunteer contacts.
 o Provide clear information to potential volunteers, including being able to provide initial assessment of eligibility and tracking inquiries.
 o Interview potential volunteers and refer them to appropriate staff members.
 o Schedule and facilitate volunteer orientations and in-services as needed.
 o Plan quarterly volunteer events, including annual volunteer appreciation event.
 o Follow volunteer stewardship plan to retain volunteers
 o Work with Development program to connect volunteers to development office. 
 
•  Data Management/Communications
 o Data entry all fundraising information into database
 o Creation of reports to provide information in real time
 o Work with Development Staff to generate mailings
  > Bulk mail
   • Fundraising Direct Mail Campaign
   • End of year tax letters (re donations (cash, in-kind, and volunteer time)
   • Other
  > Donor acknowledgements
 o Work to assure that all hard copy records are properly maintained.
 o Follow donor stewardship plan
 o Coordinate and manage Young Professional Group
 
•  Communications
 o Coordinate and create monthly newsletter with WNS staff
 o Update and print brochures as needed
 o Create info graphics for social media and other forms of communications
 
•  Other Duties as Assigned

• Bachelor Degree preferred
• Volunteer management or customer service experience preferred
• Experience with donor database preferred
• Experience with email marketing platform
