Arts and Education at the JCC has presented renowned authors and speakers including Peter Sagal, Daniel Silva and John Green; has exhibited many of Central Indiana's very finest artists and hosted such outstanding organizations as Heartland Film, Dance Kaleidoscope and Phoenix Theatre. The Arts & Education includes a robust dance program which brings joy to dancers ranging in age from 3 to 93 years old. Arts & Education at the JCC includes all this and so much more.
We are looking for an organized, passionate person with strong interpersonal skills and a tech-saavy background including proficiency with Microsoft Office, who aspires to improve our community through the arts.

Position Summary
The Cultural Arts Coordinator will serve as an assistant to the Director of Arts & Education, provide administrative support, help organize and implement cultural arts programs that include the Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts, JCC Gallery Exhibitions, dance classes and special events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage administrative functions including:
o Track and document program attendance;
o Monitor budget;
o Schedule and coordinate dance classes, volunteer support for special events, committee meetings and other program-related events;
o Develop relationships with artists, artisans, volunteers and program users;
o Work with marketing department to communicate internal & external publicity, program recruitment & retention, and call out for volunteer support.

Serve as primary planner and facilitator for the following programs:
o All dance programs & activities including staff supervision, management & evaluation;
o Art gallery exhibitions;
o Annual Artisan Bazaar.

With Director of Arts & Education, organize, develop and implement all phases of the Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts including:
o Help choose authors, films and programs to offer;
o Strengthen volunteer base and work with volunteer coordinator to present outstanding Festival;
o Coordinate travel (including flights, hotel, etc.) to the annual Jewish Book Network conference;
o Help plan and organize book sales, including selecting, ordering, displaying, inventorying, and return of unsold books.

Other Responsibilities
o Staffing evening and weekend events;
o Manage volunteers;
o Publicize Arts & Education programs, activities, and special events via website, calendars and marketing materials (poster) distribution;
o Collaborate with JCC members, community members and other local arts organizations including Jewish agencies to implement Arts & Education arts and special events;
o Develop agenda for meetings, attend meetings, distribute meeting minutes and notes;
o Proofread contractual documents, emails, and marketing/communication materials.

• MS Office and other proprietary programs
• Laminator, paper cutter
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics are representative of a busy, active community center as well as an office setting. The work environment is usually fast-paced with constant stimulation and mobility. This job requires high energy and interaction with JCC members, staff and members of the community. Expectations are that the individual will present a professional appearance at all times, particularly when interacting with members or potential members, both in dress and mannerisms. Physical demands are primarily limited to walking throughout the facility and grounds, and operating general office equipment. Work schedule is primarily Monday – Friday; however, evenings and weekends will be required depending upon program schedule and special events.
