Part-time (10 hours)
The Indianapolis Children's Choir (ICC) seeks candidates with strong communication and administrative skills for its new volunteer coordinator position. The volunteer coordinator's primary responsibilities are to identify and track volunteers engagement while promoting volunteerism for the benefit of the ICC.
Organizational overview and Description: The Indianapolis Children's Choir serves 5,500 Central Indiana children from pre-school age through high school. The ICC nurtures and inspires student achievement through quality music education and the pursuit of artistic excellence in choral music performance.
Position Qualifications
a. Recruit volunteers.
b. Promote volunteerism.
c. By partnering with staff, identify volunteer opportunities within the organization.
d. Create volunteer application and application review process.
e. Conduct volunteer screening interviews.
f.  Establish orientation, training and background check standards for volunteer positions.
g. Track volunteers, their interests and availability.
h. Conduct outreach initiatives to expand volunteerism
i. Prepare status reports as specified by the Director of Marketing and Alumni Relations.
j. Other duties as assigned

d.      Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
e.      Ability to meet deadlines.
f.      Strong organizational skills (record keeping, time management, follow up, etc.).
g.      Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations.
h.      Strong problem solving skills.
i.      Strong ethical standards; ability to create trust and integrity with co-workers, volunteers, and community.
j.      Personal attributes that include reliability, professionalism, ability to work independently, positive attitude, and ability to remain calm in stressful situation.
k.      Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers preferred.
l.      Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment desired.
m.      Associates or bachelor's degree desired.
