Joy's House is an award-winning organization dedicated to serving individuals with life-altering diagnoses and their families through its adult day and caregiver services. Established in 1999 in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joy's House expanded its presence in Central Indiana by partnering with the University of Indianapolis to establish an adult day center near campus. In its eighteenth year of operation, Joy's House's vision for the future of its services and operations continues to evolve.
Joy's House is looking to hire a caring individual to act as an Operations Manager at our Joy's House at the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) location.  The Operations Manager is the Guest and caregiver's first contact each day with Joy's House.  Therefore, the Manager must have strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, attention to detail and a sense of respect for all.  Joining Joy's House requires a team orientation with a positive attitude and willingness to assist in all aspects of the organization.  This individual must have a passion for working with adults who are aging and/or living with a life altering diagnosis.  Shift hours are primarily will be 9:00 am – 5:00 pm or 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  As the Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Senior Guest Relations Assistants and Guest Relations Assistants, prior supervisory experience is required.  In addition, she/he is responsible for various Guest, house and business-related duties. 
• Supervise, coach and develop the Guest Relations staff
• Create and maintain a staff schedule
• Track and conduct (if appropriate) staff training
• Maintain on-site staff personnel files
• Calculate and report bi-weekly payroll to the VP of Operations
• Maintain current job descriptions for all positions and keep most current versions at UIndy
• Supervise volunteer/student supervision in Guest Relations
• Create and manage Holiday Wish Tree and the process behind it
• Manage attendance sign in sheets for billing purposes
• Ensure safety of all Guests
• Participate with Guest care, as needed
• Create descriptions of volunteer needs, recruit new volunteers and conduct regular orientations in addition to UIndy and various high school student groups
• Ensure that volunteers are kept engaged with a task or active with the Guests and that every volunteer is made to feel appreciated and a part of Joy's House services and mission
• Assist with event planning as needed
• Maintain various work-related binders/folders at UIndy
• With all staff, help maintain a safe and immaculate working environment
• Manage Maintenance files; instruction manuals and warranties; make duplicate copies at JH UIndy
• Attend and assist with occasional Joy's House events outside regular business hours
• Answer phone and direct calls appropriately
• Welcome visitors and call the appropriate staff person to meet with them

Minimum Qualifications:
• Prior supervisory experience required
• Flexible, multitasking and capable of handling last-minute jobs
• Exceptional communication skills, including written/email and spoken/phone
• Highly organized and self-motivated to remain focused on various tasks at once
• Must be friendly and people-oriented
• Excellent inclusion, truthfulness and individuality skills
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift min. 50 lbs independently
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Family Care and will work in conjunction with the Family Care Manager, UIndy.
